Freedom of action. Freedom of action. And this freedom of action to man is also due to the value of the atmosphere about man. The atmosphere about angels is so pretty! But even though they have principally, and practically also, greater ability of performance and action, but their free will is hampered by the great prettiness of the atmosphere. Here in man, the atmosphere is so.. just enough to keep him hoping for more. Enough for more.
If it were so that the man begins to be a little bit self-sufficient, then he would not be able to use this free will which he has from birth. So the atmosphere of man, which is of a nun-fulfilling nature, adds to the trend of free will. It’s a beautiful point, mm?
And this is what we can incorporate in the consideration of the value of [the] atmosphere on action and actor. A very beautiful point, that even the free will is influenced by the atmosphere. Even the free will is influenced by the atmosphere, so the free will of man is influenced by the non-fulfilling atmosphere in human species. And [the] greater free will in the life of the angels is hampered by the much more valuable and more fulfilling atmosphere [and] environment of the angel world. Mm? [It’s a] beautiful point.
Q….
Say it loud?
Q…
What is it?
Oh, when all men are fulfilled? – fine.
Q….
In the state of fulfilment, certainly the amount of freedom of action increases. Then in that state, freedom is infinite. It’s all infinite freedom. Because of the infinite contentment, the freedom rejoices rest. Such great rest that even a slight thought finds fulfilment. A slight, thin desire finds fulfilment.
So even though the quantity of freedom increases, but because with that great freedom, the ability of performance of maximum value by minimum effort also increases, one doesn’t have to do very much in order to accomplish more. This is the value of highly developed freedom of action, on the level of fulfilment of life. Freedom is there, but fulfilment also is there. And therefore the freedom doesn’t seem being displayed by the man. Because they are fulfilled.
Yes…
Q…forgotten…
Say it again?
Q…
Yeah.
Q…suffering…
We are skipping many miserable steps to that. Because… It’s good that we don’t remember it, that the suffering at the time of birth and death is tremendous. That suffering is great. That’s why there is no fun in getting to the pool of suffering over and over again. Very great suffering. At the time of death and at the time of birth. And therefore even though the life of angels seems to be very alluring, but this, this path to the angelic life
through so many births and deaths, is simply horrible. It’s just unbelievably horrible. And therefore we don’t seem allured to that.
Q What is the nature of suffering at birth?
Great.
Hm?
Q…
Now imagine a house in all darkness. And you have to feel around every door and every bedroom and bathroom and everything, and everything, and just all in darkness, darkness.
That is how terribly miserable would that state be, until you have located everything that there may be and then you start living it.
All that period of remembered ignorance and trying to establish in that darkness.
This is what happens when one enters the body. Just the faint, fragile, almost incomplete structure is there – the eyes are there, but they don’t open, and the ears are there, but they don’t… nothing, and then the sense of sight has to enter this dwelling house and then it has to find this place, and proper,… the sense of hearing, and the sense of smell, and then the breath begins to flow, and the lungs and all… Every aspect of the subjective personality has to feel its way and establish its new home in that lump of flesh.
